All players will come in each Saturday for 45 minutes of professional skills training, followed by a 40 minute league game. Our highly trained staff will handle ALL skills training, and game management during our sessions. Much of the emphasis in this league will be on building a strong foundation and teaching ALL fundamentals of the game. * Players will compete 4 on 4 on 8 foot baskets *All game rules and fundamentals will be taught * Teams will substitute 4 in & 4 out to ensure equal playing time for all players *Teams will be balanced and formed on our first day to ensure close competitive games *We have no scheduled practices during the week, and all training will be completed before our games for parent convenience *Man to Man defense *Brand new uniform top included *Teammate requests honored - Come see why Charlotte Magazine named Yes I Can Basketball "The Best of the Best!"

Our First day report time will be 9:00am on Saturday, June 15th at Jackson Day School. Plan on your child being in the gym for around 2 hours the first Saturday! On this day we'll draft teams/honor teammate requests, hand out uniform tops and schedules, assign coaches, and begin teaching our motion offense. Your child will always report at 9:00am.

What to expect in a Little Dribblers League:
We have three goals for your child:

1) learn movement
2) learn skills
3) learn how to play the game

Each session will focus on developing these three areas.

If players learn movement at this age, they will become better athletes when they mature. We want them to learn such critical movements such as, pivoting, skipping, running, shuffling laterally, hopping, landing, running backwards and so on.

Learning basketball skills is accomplished by giving them a steady diet each day of fast paced drills/teaching such areas as: triple threat, passing and catching, pivoting, jump stop, layups/shooting, and defense.

Learning how to play the game will follow the drills/teaching. We issue them uniform tops for them to keep. The league games allow the players a chance to start putting the teaching together in a game situation. We wisely do not turn the score clock on. Focus is on developing skills - less on who is winning the game.
